Nanoparticles Targeting Microglia
Microglia is the immune cells of the nervous system.
They actively seek out any damage done within our brain, and release various cytokines in response to the damage. However, prolonged and excessive microglial activity can be rather harmful.
We are trying to develop chemical and organic substances that can be delivered specifically to microglia,
so its activity would not be so malignant.
We utilize nanoparticles conjugated with various materials, and particle-assisted DNAs/RNAs to achieve that goal.
